Ocean Grove has had a boost, with the Guthridge Street Boat Ramp receiving an upgrade.
Storms damaged both the upstream and downstream pontoons in 2020 and 2021, prompting the development of new designs.
The northern pontoon was upgraded thanks to Better Boating Victoria’s Structural Maintenance Grant program. With $120,000 provided to improve the functionality of the piles and pontoons.
A further $250,000 was also provided by Better Boating Victoria to upgrade the upstream pontoon.
These projects were completed by the City of Greater Geelong in 2022.
