| The Karadoc Boat Ramp is being upgraded to make accessing the Murray River in the Mildura area safer and easier.
Thanks to the reinvestment of recreational boating licence and registration fees through the Better Boating Fund, a new concrete boat ramp will be laid down. The new ramp will be longer and steeper than the old ramp, making it easier to launch a range of crafts. The grooved surface will provide more traction and in combination with wave action, will help clear sediment from the ramp. Better Boating Victoria will work with ramp manager Parks Victoria to deliver the project in the 2026/27 financial year.
The upgrade will consist of the following: – Renewal of existing ramp – Limited excavation to avoid impact to native vegetation and cultural heritage – Improvement of ramp incline – Improvement of ramp surface to increase usability and safety What’s happened so far Engineering firm Confluence were engaged to create the detailed design. This is now complete and all permits and approvals have been received from Mildura City Council, Wentworth Shire Council (NSW) and Traditional Owners – First Peoples of the Millewa Mallee Aboriginal Corporation. |
