Better Boating Victoria is working with Hobsons Bay City Council to develop plans to upgrade Altona Boat Ramp.

Altona Boat Ramp car park resurfacing works
The Altona Boat Ramp will be closed for car park resurfacing works for approximately five days from Monday 14 September 2026, weather permitting.
The works will improve the accessibility and durability of high-use areas of the car park and are being completed ahead of the busy snapper season to minimise disruption for boaters over summer.
During the closure, boaters are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternative launching facilities at The Warmies or Avalon.
This project is funded through the Better Boating Fund, using revenue from boating licences and recreational vessel registrations.
