Limeburners Point (Stage 1)

Upgraded and open
Stage 1 of the Limeburners Point Boat Ramp upgrade has delivered more parking and improved access for boaters and other waterway users at this popular Geelong facility.
Limeburners Point provides direct access to Corio Bay and Port Phillip Bay and is a popular destination for recreational boaters. Increasing demand at the facility had placed pressure on the existing car and trailer parking, particularly during busy periods.
More parking for boaters
Stage 1 included a major upgrade of the existing overflow parking area, providing 56 additional formal car and trailer spaces and increasing capacity to 106 spaces.
The works also provided additional single-car parking, including accessible parking, and improvements to pedestrian circulation around the facility.
The upgraded parking area was completed in late 2023.
Dedicated access for non-powered vessels
Stage 1 also delivered a dedicated launching facility for non-powered vessels such as kayaks and outriggers.
The new facility includes a gangway and floating pontoon, providing non-powered vessel users with their own launch and retrieval area away from the main powered boat ramps.
This helps separate different users of the facility and makes it easier for paddlers to get on and off the water.
