As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to improve Mornington Schnapper Point Boat Ramp, construction has been completed making launching at the popular location easier.
Planning for the project was included in the 2023/2024 Victorian Recreational Boating Action Plan and is part of the Victorian Government’s unprecedented investment in improving boating across the state.
Construction was completed on 5 October 2026 in time for the 2026/2027 Snapper season.

Nearly $140 million has been invested by the Victorian Government since 2021 to construct or upgrade more than 100 boat ramps through the Better Boating Fund.
Mornington Peninsula’s Schnapper Point is a premier, highly productive year-round boat-based and land-based fishing destination in Port Phillip, popular with fishers chasing snapper, flathead, whiting and squid.
