Cape Conran

Cape Conran boat ramp is better than ever following construction on boating upgrades.

Funded as part of the Victorian Government’s investment to improve recreational boating through BBV, the project was delivered by Parks Victoria and local contractor McInnes Earthmoving.

Upgrades have made it easier to hit the water at the spectacular East Gippsland location, with a new concrete ramp surface, extended jetty and improved turning apron.

The jetty has been lengthened to provide more space to tie up whether you’re on your way in or out and the bigger concrete apron means more space to manoeuvre your trailer when backing down to launch or collect your rig and higher to tie in to the revamped ramp.

The retaining wall has been strengthened while a hazardous area of offshore rock will be marked in the new year to make navigation easier.

Remember before you go you can check conditions via the ramp camera on the FREE Boating Vic app or at www.boating.vic.gov.au

Better Boating Victoria worked with local boaters, Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners to progress permits, approvals and detailed designs for the future upgrade of the Cape Conran boat ramp.

Cape Conran ramp is located within the Cape Conran Coastal Park, 15 kilometres east of Marlo. The natural significance of Cape Conran Coastal Park and access to offshore fishing makes it a popular regional destination for boaters and angers. The immediate area surrounding the facility is of significant environmental and aboriginal cultural heritage importance.

The design was developed with advice and input key stakeholders including local recreational fishers, abalone divers the coast guard and management authorities and the necessary approvals were obtained.
