Inverloch boat ramp has re-opened following construction of a new jetty.
Complete with wave screens, a lower landing and more user-friendly features, it’ll provide extra protection from tidal flow and wind when you’re launching and retrieving.
You can see how it looks via the Boating Vic app or at www.boating.vic.gov.au
The new structure was built on the western side of the ramp and features large wooden wave screens to reduce the energy from water driven by tidal flow, wind and waves.
It boasts solar lights, a non-slip decking surface and large rubber fenders to provide added protection for your vessel.
There’s also a lower landing so you can board boats when the tide’s out. This section has been designed to be under water at higher tides and uses durable, corrosion-resistant materials.
Workers will return in early 2025 to install a non-slip mesh onto the ramp to improve traction, extend the pedestrian access ramp and extend a handrail at the top of the jetty. Impacts on ramp users will be minimised during that time.
Boating access to Anderson Inlet has been transformed in 2024, with the nearby Mahers Landing ramp completely redeveloped and open since September.
Both projects are thanks to your boating licence and rego fees being reinvested through the Victorian Government’s Better Boating Fund.
