The team from Better Boating Victoria (BBV) as a part of the Victorian Fisheries Authority, is working with the Capel Sound Foreshore Committee of Management and local boaters on plans for an upgrade to the boat ramp and supporting facilities.
IThe Victorian Recreational Boating Strategy identified the need for an improved boat launching facility at Capel Sound. In early 2022 Better Boating Victoria engaged engineers to work on a concept plan for a future upgrade to the boat ramp.
The boat ramp is primarily used by residents for recreational boating and fishing, and it provides access to Port Phillip. The ramp is in poor condition and there is limited parking at the site.

BBV are in the process of going out to the market for a qualified consultant to prepare the detailed design, approvals and construction ready documentation.
