Accessing western Port Phillip is easier with construction complete at Kirk Point boat ramp.
The new Kirk Point Boat Ramp facility is making it safer to launch and retrieve small vessels with more car parking capacity and easier access to your vessel from a fixed jetty.
The upgrade’s design was overseen by Better Boating Victoria, which is progressing the state’s biggest ever ramp construction program, while Parks Victoria managed the construction.
Key upgrade features include:
Kirk Point is suitable for small vessels during medium to high tides only. When using the boat ramp, boaters are reminded to consider the timing of tides and how it may affect the draught of vessels. Boaters with larger vessels are recommended to launch at Werribee, St Helens or Limeburners.

The area is popular with fishers as well as bird watchers within the adjoining wildlife reserve who use the facility for parking. Parking is a mix of formal and informal parking.
Kirk Point is located close to the offshore Wilson’s Reef rocky reef module.
