Clifton Springs

Construction of a new overflow car-trailer park at the Clifton Springs boat ramp has been completed by the City of Greater Geelong, thanks to marine licence and registration fees.

The completed project adds 30 additional paved parking spaces for boat trailers, and provide extra parking capacity to one of Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula’s most popular boat ramps.

The parking is adjacent to the eastern ramp and formalises an existing informal overflow area.

The upgrade to the car park at Clifton Springs is complemented by a grant from the 2023-24 Recreational Boating Dredging and Access Grants program. The City of Greater Geelong was successful in obtaining funding required to dredge the facility, which had accumulated significant amounts of seagrass thanks to storm events.

Dredging was most recently undertaken in Spring 2024.

Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula are now well-serviced by improved boating infrastructure, with recent upgrades completed at Limeburners, Point Richards and Queenscliff boat ramps. Construction is also well underway at St Leonards boat ramp to improve the central “T” jetty.
