Launch from the Patterson River Boat ramp then head north to the idyllic hidden cove of Half Moon Bay and past the beautiful bluffs of Davey’s Bay. Stop at Mornington Pier, where you can fish or take a short stroll to shops and eateries. From here, take a picturesque journey by foot along the Mornington Foreshore Walk to spy bathing boxes and gorgeous views of the Mornington Harbour – keep an eye out for the resident common dolphins.

Hop back aboard then continue south to Dromana for vistas of Arthur’s Seat and head down towards Rye Pier where you can anchor and check out the underwater wonders, including seahorses, stingrays, octopuses and crabs. Head further south to Sorrento to access public moorings for overnight stays.

Please check Boating Vic for ramp launching information and weather conditions. Stay safe with these trip preparation guidelines from Maritime Safety Victoria. When operating in Port Phillip and Western Port here’s how to steer clear of ships and boat safely in the bay. For information on public berthing’s and mooring check Parks Vic.
