Launch from Warmies Ramp in Newport and sail into the mouth of the Yarra River. Tie up at Melbourne City Marina to explore the Docklands. There, you can roam the entertainment district to find art, restaurants, minigolf and designer fashion. Hop back aboard and continue along the Yarra to see historic city buildings, rowers gliding in formation, the Botanical gardens and beautiful native bushland that makes you feel miles from the city.
Stop off at one of the small passenger landings along the river to grab coffee and food at one of the local cafes. Then make your way back to catch the sunset and the glittering city lights. For an overnight stay, berth at the Docklands.
Please note when transiting the Yarra and Maribyrnong rivers, sailing vessels are not permitted to navigate under sail only. Read these tips and details of boating in the city including info on bridge clearances.
