Background:
Point Richards boating facility is one of six facilities the government committed to upgrade as part of its unprecedented investment in boating in Victoria. We will be upgrading the Point Richards boating facility in two stages, starting with the car park before running a separation consultation to address changes to marine side infrastructure.
As part of the car park upgrade process, we developed and tested two upgrade concept designs with the community at two dedicated drop-in events on Wednesday 20 October and Saturday 30 November, and an online consultation between Saturday 30 November and Monday 9 December 2019. We received significant feedback and used it to inform the final design concept that the boating and fishing community and Bellarine Bayside Coastal Management support.

Next steps:
We will be working with Bellarine Bayside Coastal Management to progress a detailed design and secure the necessary approvals throughout the rest of 2020.
At this stage, we’re aiming to complete construction by winter 2021.
We will provide updates on the progress of this upgrade as it becomes available.
