Victorian Boating Facility Design Guidelines

Victorian boating facilities and the environment they operate in are unique, with over 400 public boat ramps located in a range of differing locations and environments, such as on the coast, to inland lakes and rivers.

Better Boating Victoria (BBV) has worked closely with government agencies and industry stakeholders to prepare the Victorian Boating Facility Design Guidelines.  These are now available for guidance to boating facility managers and stakeholders. Click here to download a copy.

The Victorian Boating Facility Design Guidelines identify the key design aspects that must be considered when planning and designing a boating facility, provide technical and operational advice that best assists the functional design and layout of the boating facility, and provides advice throughout the various stages of design, implementation and construction of a boating facility.

The Victorian Boating Facility Design Guidelines have been prepared as to be specific to Victorian conditions, rather than taking a general approach in their development.

It is intended that the Victorian Boating Facility Design Guidelines will be reviewed every few years, to ensure that they remain up to date and relevant for use.

BBV is also currently working on the development of the Victorian Boating Facility Maintenance Guidelines, which also provide guidance and support to boating facility managers.
