Have your say on the Rhyll upgrade

The Rhyll boating facility is getting an upgrade thanks to the State Government’s unprecedented investment in boating in Victoria.

The upgrade will deliver a safer boating facility that will provide a better launching experience, improved traffic flow, improved pedestrian safety and more parking.

Better Boating Victoria (BBV) have engaged AW Maritime to develop concept plans for an improved facility at Rhyll.

Now we’re reaching out to the community for feedback on these plans.

To facilitate this discussion, BBV, Maritime Safety Victoria and the Victorian Fisheries Authority will be hosting a community event on 22 November.

There will be a BBQ and refreshments available as well as interactive boating and fishing education and safety displays for all the family.

For those who can’t attend in person, we’ll be running an online consultation to allow you to provide feedback. Further details on this option will be available shortly.

The feedback we receive from the community event and online consultation will inform a final concept design that will be used as the basis for the future upgrade.

This project is part of the Government’s $47.2 million commitment to deliver urgent upgrades to six of the state’s busiest public boat ramps, remove parking and launching fees and review infrastructure management at Port Phillip and Western Port.

Event details:

Date: Friday, 22 November
Time: 4pm – 7pm
Location: Rhyll boat ramp near the Rhyll-Phillip Island Angling Club, Beach Rd, Rhyll
