Coronavirus Boating and Fishing Update – Thursday, 17 June 2021

From 11.59pm on Thursday 17 June, restrictions in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria will be eased.

If you live in metropolitan Melbourne, you can leave home for any reason, with no time or distance limits.

Recreational boating and fishing are permitted with no distance on travel and in groups of up to 20 people. You can travel between metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria for exercise or recreation, such as boating and fishing. Face masks need to be worn in indoor settings as well as outdoors where you cannot maintain physical distance.

If you live in regional Victoria, you can leave home for any reason, with no time or distance limits.

Exercise and outdoor recreation such as boating and fishing are permitted within regional Victoria and in groups of up to 50 people. If you live in regional Victoria, you can travel into metropolitan Melbourne to launch your boat. Face masks need to be worn in indoor settings as well as outdoors where you cannot maintain physical distance.
