Seacombe boat ramp set for an upgrade

Fishers and boaters can look forward to better facilities and access at Seacombe boat ramp in the Gippsland Lakes thanks to the government’s continued investment in making boating better across Victoria.

The $435,000 upgrade will deliver improved access to McLennan Strait, with an upgraded single-lane, all-tide boat ramp and new fish cleaning facilities.

The project will also improve safety with new pathways and lighting installed and deliver an accessible platform to allow everyone to enjoy the fishing opportunities at the landing.

Seacombe Boat ramp is popular among recreational fishers and boaters because of its central location in the Gippsland Lakes and the natural shelter provided by the McLennan Strait.

Better Boating Victoria will work with Wellington Shire Council to deliver upgrades.

The project is being funded through a $404,000 Victorian Government grant from Boating Safety and Facilities Program (BSFP) with Wellington Shire Council funding the remainder of the project.

The project is now entering the planning phase and is expected to be completed by November 2021.
