Construction of the Hastings Boat Ramp continues to move at a rapid rate with the final boat ramp panel concrete pours taking place.
Boat Ramp Construction
Over the course of the first week in November, accompanying works will be carried out to move towards completing the physical construction of the ramp. These works will include constructing the concrete edge kerbing, installing the central mountable kerbs, placing rock at the base of the ramp, and reinstating the asphalt at the top edge of the ramp.
On-Site Activities
Following the ramp construction, several on-site activities will then take place prior to the ramp re-opening.
The large cofferdam (temporary formwork) will be disassembled and removed from site, with a new pontoon extension then lifted into place to connect the newly constructed ramp to the existing pontoon / jetty.
A large crane, heavy machinery, materials and temporary site offices will then be removed from the area to provide access to the ramp.
With the ramp construction and on-site activities progressing as quickly and safely as possible, the ramp is expected to be re-opened from mid-November.
To stay up to date on the project, further updates will be provided via the Shire’s webpage: mornpen.vic.gov.au/hastingsboatramp
We’re committed to improving the boating experience across Victoria.
