The Point Richards boating facility is getting an upgrade thanks to the State Government’s unprecedented investment in boating in Victoria.
Better Boating Victoria (BBV) is overseeing the delivery of the upgrade in close consultation with Bellarine Bayside Coastal Management.
The upgrade will take place in two stages, starting with an upgrade to the car park to deliver improved pedestrian safety, more parking and better traffic flow.
We are currently running an online consultation to get your feedback on the concept plans for a better car park at Point Richards. To see the plans and have your say, visit: https://getinvolved.transport.vic.gov.au/
This consultation closes on Monday 9 December. Your feedback is vital and will inform a final concept design that will be used as the basis for the future upgrade. We look forward to hearing from you.
The second stage of this project will address changes to marine side infrastructure once a coastal processes study to better understand the issues associated with seagrass and sand build up is complete. A separate consultation for this second stage will happen in 2020.
This project is part of the Government’s $47.2 million commitment to deliver urgent upgrades to six of the state’s busiest public boat ramps, remove parking and launching fees and review infrastructure management at Port Phillip and Western Port.
We’re committed to improving the boating experience across Victoria.
